whistleridge: Teachers are overwhelmingly female in the US, but only 50% of principals are female, and as little as 20 years ago, principals were 75%+ male.

We definitely seem to have a latent cultural assumption in the country of female teachers and male principals. I wonder why that is?

Administration =/= Teaching.  Two entirely different careers and skill sets.

This just in:  some careers have a gender bias.  Doesn't necessarily mean there's discrimination going on, could be as simple as more men get attracted to a career of power/authority (because testosterone), while more women get attracted to a career of nurturing.
