I submitted this headline in Comic Sans.

Was the bucket red or blue?

Worse than Kwame Brown? That's quite an achievement.

He went from Rags to Riches living The Good Life but Because of You he signed his contract Just in Time and there was a Smile.

So we're linking this after he made his first career field goal?

Oh Fark, don't go changin'.

And that 1966 #1 pick made the All-Rookie team and played for 12 years averaging 15 points/game.

On an unrelated side note, Wikipedia apparently tracks NBA Draft picks who never played a regular season or playoff game.  The record for highest draft pick since the 1970s never to play (non-tragic death division) is Fran Vazquez, drafted by the Magic 11th overall in 2005 but who decided to stay in Spain.

The Cavs are like the Browns of the NBA.

CavalierEternal: So we're linking this after he made his first career field goal?

One field goal in five games.  Not exactly number one draft pick material, is it?  Don't worry, the draft class this year is good so the Cavs will get someone worthwhile from their lottery pick.

Makes no sense why the Cavs would draft him and take themselves out of the LeBron sweepstakes

There are busts, and then there are picks that never made any goddamn sense even without the benefit of hindsight.  This is one of those picks.

Hope you enjoy a saner, fatter, less talented Michael Beasley, Cleveland... But I'm sure Dion Waiters will be waaaay better than Victor Oladipo...

Lost Thought 00: Makes no sense why the Cavs would draft him and take themselves out of the LeBron sweepstakes

Because when you lose those sweepstakes, you end up with players like Monta Ellis.

I'm happy with Victor Oladipo right now. In fact, I think we have a promising team.

I don't want to get too far into small sample size theater, but Oladipo looks like the real deal.

As good of an assist man as Kyrie Irving is, it's puzzling how Bennett can't seem to get one measly layup or dunk or short jumper.

Haven't watched any Cavs games this year. Are his teammates trying to set him up for easy looks or what?

That player's name?

Albert Einstein.

I'm not sure who's a bigger disappointment, Bennett or D-Rose. They both probably just need some more game time to settle in but Rose coming back was extremely overhyped.

2013-11-07 04:36:54 PM
Let's see. Through 5 games, he's 1-20, with 5 total points. Time to compare that with the first 5 games for a few other disappointing #1 picks.

Kwame Brown - 6-17, 21 points
Olowokandi - 22-43, 58 points
Greg Oden - 16-30, 49 points
Bargnani - 8-21, 18 points

Though it's certainly too early to take a lot of meaning from his performance. I think a lot of it might be him psyching himself out.

He made a shot last night. He's still bad. In the Cavs' defense, though, they tried like hell to trade the pick. No one was willing to give up anything good for it.

My brother's a senior at UNLV, and he and everyone he knows says that he should've stayed here in Vegas a few more years, because there was no reason he was talented for the first overall pick.
