Super Chronic: whatshisname: Lived in Canada for 45 years and except for maybe one Newfie I met that one time, I have never heard anyone say "aboot"To me, it sounds more like "a boat," and I hear it from people all across Canada.
iron_city_ap: dwrash: Anything is preferable to a Yinzer accent. As a fellow Yinzer, I agree. With guys, its bad but tolerable. when a girl has a thick Yinzer accent, its horrible sounding.
Ishkur: Heamer: The Canadian accent just sounds kind of funny, the Jersey accent is just grating on the ears.Truth be told, no one in Canada actually talks like Bob and Doug Mackenzie (except for some stereotypical newfie pockets). That's just a joke we play on Americans. Most Canadians sound like standard American English (ie: nightly news anchors, which half of them are Canadian, and are recruited as such for their neutral dialect).
