I'm enraged that we pay someone to field these complaints, and I'm also enraged that we had to pay someone to deliver them up again to the public.  It offends my delicate sensibilities.  It's worse than rape, and it needs to be stopped.

What? No complaints about Barts penis in the Simpsons movie when it aired on TV? Ned and kids in coffee shop and smack against the window or was that the ride past the bush. Hello Mr. Bush sr.

Those hard male rightwingers who watch screen TV really hate females and love that bare chested man with his just right amount of chest hair.

It's a good hobby but I wish there was an anti-PTC group. I'll start harassing them today.

My wife and I have simple method to shield my daughter from really questionable content: I change the channel or we send her off to do something else when we do watch something not entirely approriate for her.
Fark those PTC morons. I'm off to watch some Beavis and Butthead reruns with my daughter.

If these people have a problem with the content of a show, there is a simple solution: change the channel, turn the television off or program the parental controls to only allow TV-G content.

Oh wait, these people want to control the content that *I* get to watch on *my own* television?  Mind your own business, ya fundie puritan zealots.

The complaints are confidential.  These only got released under a FOIA request.  So sending fake complaints to the FCC hoping you can link to them and become an internet star are usually not going to work.

This isn't quite as hilarious as the story about all the letters Mtv got from people about Myley Cyrus' "pornographic" dance routine a month or so or whenever it was, telling the FCC to take them off the air. Ignoring #1, the FCC has no jurisdiction over cable channels, #2, there were numerous adult content warnings before and after each commercial break and #3, fark you.

To all the concerned citizens complaining about The Simpsons, you should let your kids watch South Park. It has the words "south" and "park" and must be completely wholesome.

That's pretty funny actually because the show addressed that I think. The episode was like, "WTF are we doing making light of child abuse?" But two women kissing is much more offensive.

Hell, check out their SNL complaints (second result in a site search for "simpsons", not sure why).  People never fail to be nuts.  I'd love to know the demographics of these complaints, though.  When you get complaints like "We don't watch Saturday Night Live because we find its brand of 'humor' offensive and moderately pornographic," (emphasis added), I have to assume it's an octogenarian.

It's so not something worth getting worked up about.  There are, basically, six channels which are content restricted for 16 hours a day.  There's no content restriction on them from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM.  There's no content restriction on anything on cable.  There's no content restriction on Hulu or Netflix.

And you know what?  Other than an occasional "shiat" or naked man's ass, there's basically no difference between the content shown in the content-restricted channels during the them they're restricted and on the non-content restricted channels or during the safe harbor times (when ABC could show hard core pornography if they wanted).

"During this period, we have continued to receive and process indecency complaints. In addition, the Enforcement Bureau ("Bureau") has taken steps to reduce the backlog of indecency complaints that resulted from past pauses in enforcement activity. In particular, the Bureau has resumed its review and processing of cases, including closing those cases based on complaints alleging that a cable or satellite operator aired indecent material, complaints concerning broadcast content that is outside of the scope of the Commission's indecency enforcement authority based on Commission precedent, as well as complaints alleging that a broadcaster aired indecent material during the "safe harbor" hours between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., local time.

Regarding the safe harbor period, Congress and the courts have instructed the Commission only to enforce the indecency standard between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., local time. - when children are more likely to be in the audience. As a consequence, the Commission does not take action on indecent material aired between 10 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. In this way, constitutionally-protected free speech rights of adults are balanced with the need to protect children from harmful content."

So, they are still accepted, just no one reads them. lol.
