sharphead: The more I read about Facebook the more I don't regret deleting my profile years ago. I give it another 5 or so years before people don't give a rats ass about it anymore.

I wish that were true.  But many people thought that 5 years ago.

Facebook has gone through a number of phases in terms of how people use it.  It started out sort of like Twitter is now: "This is what I'm up to, here are pictures of my kids.  Nice to hook up with old friends."
Then it turned into:  "Time to find every single person I have ever known in my life and 'friend them'.
At the same time:  "I'm an artist, musician, small business, look at what I do, and say whether or not you intend to come to my event."
At the same time it was also:  "It's time to hunt down every single person I ever dated in the past, and make contact.  Hopefully my spouse will not find out.  And if I'm lucky, I might even be able to strike up an affair."

Now that people have run the gammut on all that nonsense, it has finally settled on:  "These are my political views, these are my religious views, these are the games I play, this is how much I drink, and here are pictures of everything I am about to eat."
There is also a healthy amount of ranting and raving, and posting of charts and graphs that no one seems to know the source of, and the occasional relationship dirty laundry.

Now...  Exactly WHERE are people concerned about their privacy again?  I must have missed something.

kosherkow: scotchcrotch: That's why I hate the douchebag.

He seems to value privacy over anything and is slowly removing it for his users.

maybe his users should realize they are using a free service and stop being so entitled to privacy on a public site they so willingly signed up for?

but since every site keeps track of what you're doing on their site, it doesn't make sense to pay for privacy on any of them.

/don't search for butt plugs on Amazon.com...just saying
