Not just any cigarette lighter, but a Zippotm lighter!

He's running with a flaming lie. How can I enjoy the figure skating with this dark cloud hanging over me?

Now the torch can't go into bars, restaurants, or get within 25 feet of building entrances. Thanks Putin!

What, did they think no one would notice? Or do they just not care about the idea of the torch being a continuation of the original Olympic flame?

So, what I'm seeing here is that Russians are more pragmatic than Greeks.

Sounds about right.

How is this a fail? They were able to replicate the power of the Sun for a few moments! That's raw power being shown there.

BowtoMogul: Not just any cigarette lighter, but a Zippotm lighter!

Please tell me the guy who re-lit the torch with his Zippo did the whole wrist flip to close thing after he was done.

I remember that episode of King of the Hill.  Bobby (or Peggy?) drops the torch in a puddle, extinguishing it, however Dale's cigarette -- having been lit with the authentic torch -- is used to reignite it.

Gulag time for someone. Keep that lighter handy!

A back up torch/flame should have been on hand to relight. Last time something similar to this was in Montreal when the flame went out and an official re-lit it with his lighter. Was promptly put out again and re-lit with the back up flame.

Olympics in Russia? Who cares. I don't understand why the keep giving the Olympics to shiat hole worthless countries like Russia.

To be fair, Russia hates anything flaming right now.

Vestal Virgins?  Did anybody check?  Olympic Vestal Virgins motto: "No fat chicks!"

Benevolent Misanthrope: What, did they think no one would notice? Or do they just not care about the idea of the torch being a continuation of the original Olympic flame?

They tried to get the backup flame (that they keep in a lantern) to the torch, but someone demanded 10,000 rubles before letting them pass.

Zippo fluid is a petrochemical, which is basically solar energy stored in chemical bonds.  The burning is merely rapid oxidation releasing stored solar energy.  Is there some problem here?

Vestal Virgins?!?  Those Greek priestesses may be technical virgins, but not good enough for Vesta!
