dragonchild: Hopefully this means more people in middle age sharing the world I already live in, leading to demand for quieter technology. I'm seeing more and more products and locations simply not regard high-frequency noise pollution as a design consideration. They figure pretty much anyone over 30 has wilfully destroyed their hearing and they're usually right.

Mine's just mildly annoying, so I'm not sure I'd jump on a cure if it had any risks or side effects. I sleep like a baby with just barely audible noise in the room. I also have no clue when or why it started, but it's been like this for at least a decade.
