Wyalt Derp:  Why was the government funding a KKK rally in the first place?

OK, you know how I know you didn't RTFA?  (or you're trolling, either way...)

But for the benefit of anyone who may be confused, the Government was *not* 'funding' a KKK rally.  The KKK applied for a permit for an 'event' (meeting / rally) at the Gettysburg Battlefield national park.  As a park representative said, (paraphrased) 'We have to be fair and provide the permits to any valid applicant, regardless of what we may personally think of their cause or organization, as mandated by the First Amendment'.

But then the shutdown happened, the parks closed, and valid permit or not, the KKK (along with everyone else) will not be able to get into the park.
