bborchar: I may have been the only woman who absolutely hated that movie. I've never read the books because I just can't stand rom-coms.
Bedstead Polisher: I think the point of the books was that Bridget was an every-woman who struggled with self-control issues (with food, smoking and drinking), but managed to keep herself together, find some success and a good man.It gave the average woman hope, and ability to escape into a hopefully realistic fantasy.And now she kills off the "good man". You've lost your audience, Helen Fielding.
