Wasilla Hillbilly: Bummer, I was seriously considering moving to Derry.

There's something special about the smell of Derry air.

Fano: HotIgneous Intruder: Interglacial warming, how work it? (And that link is extensively peer reviewed, weenies)

The fish are doing what stupid humans are too busy arguing about who will pay for prevention to do.
They are adapting. The fish aren't sitting around arguing about what's causing the warming, they're actually doing something about it and voting with their ... fins.
Kind of awful when fish make humans look stupid, innit.

This is what prehistoric hunter gatherers did. Move on when the neighborhood gets crummy.

I live in Maine.  60 days from now, it'll be 35 degrees.  In 90 days, it'll be 20 degrees average.  In 120 days, we're talking 10 degrees.  It'll cost me $2000-$3000 to prevent my family from freezing to death.  I will have to choose between giving up a day's pay or risking my life driving in a treacherous snow storm.

It's getting warmer on earth you say?  Awwwwww.. I has a sad.

If you live in an overpopulated, over-polluted environment that has an artificial smog-like cloud cover that traps the unnatural heat signatures from your millions of combustion engines and whatnot, and you are butthurt that you're running out of water, and the heat is unsafe.. I have just the thing for you:

Feel free to man up and address the prior demolishing of your simplistic assertions that Damnhippyfreak linked to.  You won't, and all we'll get is more foot-stomping and deflection, but I'm just putting that option out there.

I can't wait for him to tell us the real time period we should look at starts 13.8 billion years ago with the Big Bang and the trend shows steadily cooling from a peak of infinity degrees.  We really should factor in ALL the natural cycles, folks.

Albinoman: The oceans have changed by just a small fraction. It seems the glaringly obvious answer is that that area has a lack of competition due to heavy fishing. They're following the food. If it really is due to warming than ocean fish are far more willing to change their patterns than we give them credit for.

If fish are known for one thing, it's stubborness. Last fish I talked to told me he'd rather die than swim to waters that have changed to an environment where he and his prey had evolved to thrive in. He'd rather stay and weather his changing environment, that's for sure.

John Buck 41: LaChanz: Massholes?

They're seasonal, and stick to the major mapped routes.  It's really easy to avoid them if you know the backroads and what signs to look for to indicate the start and finish of tourist season.

Also, one has to learn to avoid their blind spots.  They are dangerous predators if you sneak up on them.  Accelerating through the blind spot so they can see your parking lights with their very limited peripheral vision is a must in successfully navigating another season without injury.
