With the Muppets...  (full episode)

I remember reading something about during Mork & Mindy the writers never gave him any lines in the script, they just let him do his thing.

Too tired to look for those out-takes.

Thanks, I'll go back to the shut-down.

Did anybody else catch The Crazy Ones last night?  It shows promise.  Several of the scenes it's obvious that he was just running with the moment.  Amazingly there is at least one other person on the cast who appears to be able to somewhat keep up.

Waldo Pepper:

tonight show clip with Robin Williams

I've been trying to find the one where Winters played Mindy's uncle or some such. Just about everything I've found has been when he's "Mearth", which... I shall not discuss. But the one where Winters is this stuffy uncle is hysterical, and apparently was just sort of "OK, Jonathan, have at it."

Cocaine is a helluva drug...

And Johnathan Winters didn't need cocaine to be funny.

They were on The Tonight Show with Carson toward the end of his run; Park Overall was the third guest. Still one of the best hours of late-night TV I've ever seen.  Williams was promoting The Fisher King; Winters was talking about Davis Rules, and came out dressed as a Union soldier, in which guise he ridiculed Overall and the South pretty thoroughly.

Williams may have gone off the rails, but in his day he was pretty damned funny.
