it already was a 3-way fight; the Kurds and Islamists started fighting last year.

namatad: /God I wish Chicago would leave Illinois and become its own state. Get rid of the Cook County bullshiat and Downstate bullshiat all in one giant leap.

If I am reading this correctly, you are insinuating that Chicago is the sane part of the state. This makes me lol.

SquiggsIN: Pretty much every place where European nations drew the boundaries after WW2 is farked up now right?

What's our lesson in this? (one we'll never learn)

The change from empires to nations wasn't smooth?

hardinparamedic: But fark told me there were no non-Islamic rebels. Just the Brave Assad forces and the evil islamofascists!

What we've been trying to tell you is that the Syrian rebels are being overrun by more-ruthless, better-funded, increasingly numerous Foreign fighters.

Searching "Syrian rebels Islamists" will give you quite a few current articles

KellyX: So we could now start bombing Assad's forces and the Islamic ones and the other rebels would be cool with that?

I don't think anyone else should get involved at this point. This has all of the markings of a massive clusterfark already, and I have a bad feeling anyone who gets involved directly will kick off a much larger conflict than intended.

It happened sooner than i thought it would, though there have been reports for months that the Jihadists are fighting the FSA for resources on the ground and things have been getting tense between them.

The real question is if the "rebels" win, how long after that will the Jihadists try overthrow the FSA? Because whether you like it or not, that fight is coming. ISIS and AlQueda aren't shedding blood in this fight for the creation of a different secular gov't.

On a side note, FARk ISIS! Those guys are executing "The wrong kids of muslims" on the side of road at mobile checkpoints in the Iraqi desert.

If all the world declared tomorrow that Islam was the official world religion, Al Qaeda would still be fully employed because they can always find a reason why you're not Islam-y enough.

They'd certainly be after me.  I'd be in the sect of Islam that believes that the step-son of the carpenter in Nazareth was actually the son of Allah, not just a prophet, and we'd be conducting our services in the vernacular, and just on Sunday is fine, and alcohol is as sinful as jaywalking, and the requirement for women to dress modestly is more than adequately satisfied by a bikini (as long as it's opaque).  And my beard is more awesome than theirs.

Well, we can't support the Kurds, because we will lose Turkish backing. Assad is out, the Islamists are a great big no. This doesn't look good for the FSA. Looks like the U.S. is the big loser now.
