Its possible Matthews was going for the ol' Deacon Jones head slap, which, if landed properly, would have put Kaep on the bench for a couple plays. That would have been WAY more effective than any punch to a helmet. I don't think Jim has thought about that.

where do you see anything remotely resembling a headslap?  your post deserves a Deacon Jones headslap.
