A shot posing in front of the actual polluted scene would be much cooler.  The smoggy skyline isnt that bad of a backdrop.

In all fairness, even if the pollution was so bad it burned your skin and ate away at your lungs each and every second you were exposed to it, it would still be only about about half as annoying as dealing with tourists from mainland China.
