The Saints were a rudderless team with an awful DC, and still managed to win 7 games (would have been 8 if not for those replacement refs). But Payton is back. The only other coach I'd consider as cunning and ruthless is Belichick.

The defense (now a 3-4 with Ryan) has to improve only modestly for the Saints to be a threat deep in the playoffs. The offense is so reliable that you could set a watch to it, so we don't even need to discuss that. We've terrorized the league with a bend-don't-break defense before, and I can almost promise you that will be the case this year.
