CheatCommando: I see subby failed reading comprehension - the researcher quoted in the article does have data, and has evidently proved out the model. This could be a damned useful intervention tool.
mike_d85: People in the US seem so outraged by trade and arts schooling instead of traditional college prep education and I don't get it.Why don't we play to kids' strenths instead of making them fail to get ready to go State University before they start their construction career? Just because something involves manual labor doesn't mean someone is a failure, but they should be taught how to do it properly. They should be taught structural basics, tool safety, the proper way to lift a heavy load, first aid, hazardous material markings, the list goes on and on. You can fill an entire grade school education with it, so why don't we? Arts schools gave us most of the great british rock bands such as Black Sabbath, the Who and the Rolling Stones.

angrycrank: Apparently the mods are still drunk this morning.
