What could Pakistan possibly offer us except more grief, violence and panic-driven, oppressive third-world value systems?

Why do we even take their phone calls?

FrancoFile: Fark Pakistan.  Let the Chinese have them.

I'm more than half-way serious.  We don't get any advantage from being involved with Pakistan.  If the Chinese want to try to buy influence there, let them,  At some point, the Pakistani government has to understand that their actions have consequences.  If huge chunks of their populace want to remain in the 11th century, there's only so much anybody can do.

We should be allied with India; despite all their faults, they are more like us - culturally and politically - than anyone else in the BRICS.  Even the cultural reactionaries in India at least want to be part of the modern economy.

I'm not saying make Pakistan our enemy, but we should stop throwing prestige and money down that sinkhole. We can maintain a hands-off policy when it comes to India-Pakistan conflict, and try to broker fair deals between them.  The Indian Navy is an important player in guaranteeing safe seaways between the Red Sea and Singapore - that's one less chunk of water we'd have to patrol.
