I really don't get the high waisted shorts thing. It doesn't look good at all. Maybe it's something women wear for other women, and not in the good way. Either that or something a gay man thought would look good on women.

I don't think it is fake, I believe they are all amish but I think they had all already left the lifestyle when the show started. We watched the first season but I think after the second episode I committed to watching the rest but that was it. It's essentially "Amish Shore"
