They should give them all Reliant Robins.  Perfectly safe cars.

Oldiron_79: ZAZ: In America it's very rare to outright ban a car that was legally sold and met standards at the time of sale.  I can't think of an example. The recent Jeep recall is close, because it is effectively a retroactive application of a standard, but the expectation is the cars will stay on the road.

Yeah you can still own a Pinto or a Corvair if you are into that sort of thing. If Im gonna ride a death trap its gonna have 2 wheels.

For a number of years, governments had been put under pressure from disability campaigners who felt the one-person cars were unhelpfully antisocial.

Antisocial? The cars caused their drivers to lose the capacity to care about the rights and feelings of others?

We used to have to get up at 3 am the previous Saturday, dowse ourselves in petrol then roll on surplus shrapnel till a spark caught us on fire. And we were grateful. Especially when dad would beat the flames out with wood chipper.

It probably had the handling of a Reliant Robin and the ability to catch fire like a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

Sounds like a true automotive legend.
