tigerose: I could not even finish the video. What an idiot. I can't wait til I see her child in school. Unless there is another adult who has taught him that the world doesn't spin around him, he'll be spending all sorts of time in the In School Suspension room.I particularly liked the "I don't care if people need to go somewhere" comment. Kinda done in one.
bigworld2000: Do they put people who do this shiat on the no-fly list?
bigworld2000: There's some justice in knowing that any time in the next 50 years, when ever Lindsay Capri Bien-aim is Googled by a potential employer, friend, boyfriend, or neighbor this is what will come up. No matter what kind of person she was up until now, in four short minutes she just defined her life. Good luck, lady.
CJHardin2013-06-25 09:20:46 AMOnlyM3: So after fark spent 30 pages defending an overweight actor doing the same thing, fark hates this woman?Consistency counts. If you are referring to Kevin Smith
grokca: sycraft: gsiofa: I always thought they tell you to turn everything off to try and force you to pay attention to the safety announcement, and to have a better chance at successfully communicating instructions to passengers if the plane is in trouble. No, because if that was the reason they'd require you to put down books and magazines as well, which they don't. There was a concern that electronics could interfere with the avionics and communications systems in airplanes, back in the day. Well when it comes to airplanes crashing, you err on the side of caution. However, technology advances, and not only are planes much better shielded, but we can measure all this stuff. So we can, and have, checked to see if there's any interference issues and not, there's not, not even if the whole plane is using electronic devices (RF doesn't work in an additive fashion as most think). It has been carefully studied and checked by the airlines, the FCC, and so on. However the FAA is being stubborn, mostly at this point because it is a "We don't want to admit we were wrong," thing since literally 10 years ago or more all the studies has been done on this.It also really isn't that necessary to make people pay attention. First time fliers tend to be nervous and will listen intently. Those of us that have flown a lot can, literally, recite the whole thing from memory.I only pay attention if the stewardess is hot.
Alonjar: sycraft: I feel no sympathy for people who think they are too good for the rules like this lady did. You get told to turn off your phone, like everyone else? Just do it. You are not that important. If you don't, ya they are going to kick you off. If you get belligerent, then yes you are getting arrested. Also better to deal with an aggressive person on the ground then have to put up with it in flight.Or just do what everbody else does, and pretend to turn your phone off and promptly begin using it again when the stewardess has walked away. The fact that they chose to make a scene rather than do what I suggested implies the issue at hand was not, in fact, a cell phone, but rather somebody who wanted to make a scene. So.. she got exactly what she wanted.
