So, we don't even get confirmation that the group of people are members of Al Queda before we blow them up?

/ if bush had done this; he'd be labeled as a war criminal by the left

Now the REAL nightly entertainment will come once those who are of such a mind start putting wings on IEDs, hook 'em up to the tubes, and fly 'em around sporting events, large gatherings, etc. Have a look at the drone flying around the protests in Turkey (before it was shot down by police).. that will give you an idea of what's to come.. once the tech can support heavier, denser payloads.

/Drones won't be for just for the rich and powerful anymore.

GanjSmokr: Isitoveryet: muck4doo: Oh, was he tried in a court of law and found guilty with the death penalty as a verdict? Or was he a bad American and you are okay with killing his ass? Sounds like the second.

you sure do ask a lot of questions. go on and tell us what a wonderful American he was & how proud and patriotic he makes you feel.

Let's try it this way...

He was a terrible American and a traitor, but drone bombing American citizens without a trial is WRONG.

Is that too hard to agree with?

I believe that once he sided with al-Qaeda & took up arms against my fellow Americans, he cease to be an American by choice.  He denounced America long before he was blown up in a car with other al-Queda members.

Nope, that was your hero Bush, who pushed the USA Patriot Act through and essentially eliminated the 4th Amendment, while you cheered him on.

Short memory motherfarker...

Anwar al-Awlaki? that's your example of drone strikes on American citizens? are you telling me that you believe al-Awlaki to have been an innocent American minding his own business when boom?

i want to hear you defend this man.

Maybe he wasn't an American you liked. That makes it okay to drone strike his ass.

So you're saying you support those who declare war against their own country and stand with al qaeda.

Do you cry about him daily?  You are okay with supporting terrorists aligned with al qaeda?  Have you or would you commit treason against the United States?  How long have you been a traitor?

I love the dismissal by many here.

I'm sure this kind of thing would be dismissed just as quickly if someone else was president, right?

Eddie Adams from Torrance: I still cannot understand why Fartb0ng0 got us into that war in the first place.

What the fark is that guy's problem?

I wonder too.  After all, he's the one who said it was a war of necessity.  A war where the vast majority of casualties occurred under Obama, not under Bush.  But I get it, the deterioration in the Afghan situation over the past 5 years is Bush's fault.

muck4doo: Many dickwads here on Fark still think the Soviets were the good guys in this.

Oh really.

I'm goddamn old enough to remember the outrage and anger following the Soviet invasion in 1979.  As I recall, the GOP got mad at Carter for not doing anything about it.

Somaticasual: And yet they trusted the soviets? O_o...

actually no.. the Soviets went in with their intention known which is to go in and kickass and invade and kill. Americans OTOH go in under the guise of 'freedom and kindness and bringing democracy' but doing it all through the end of a predator drone or a hellfire missile or an M4 barrel.
I think that's what distinguish the US foreign policy from the other conquering nations before.

Jake Havechek: Substitute Obama with Bush and Afghanistan with Iraq and you might have an argument.

The GOP seems to forget that their hero Bush got us into this mess, yet they love to blame Kennedy for Vietnam.

I blame the french

2 - 3 bucks my aunt fanny.  A hellfire missile costs about $68K.  And that doesn't cover delivery costs.

This guy would probably mistrust any American President no matter what he or she did or said.  As my sage mother would say, "Consider the source."

Doesn't lend much to the argument over whether drone strikes are legal, justified, etc. etc.
