My nephew has CF, and Tang is a big part of his diet, Not sure why, but it helps him.

Same here! I would wait until the ice cream softened a bit (this was in the days before consumer microwave ovens) and mix it in. I even also said it tasted like a Creamsicle.

sounds like shiat, but it's really good. Great for camping.


That sounds kind of like my favorite camping drink, but with Tang and water added to it.

I used to like Tang.

Also Space Food Sticks. I miss those little chewy, vaguely-chocolate-flavored sticks of clay.

He would have been more correct in saying that he didn't like Tang rather than it "sucked". Tang was better than my grammy's Kool Aid. She made it with saccharine and lived on Dauphin Island, AL so the water had that really nasty beach water taste.  ((shudder))

In the late 60s I begged my mother to buy Tang, I was then underwhelmed upon actually trying it.  I was expecting some life altering astronaut drink.

you had your chance back in the late 80's early 90's with the drink mix Burple----too bad they discontinued it.

The guy is 83 and a national hero. As an early astronaut, he probably gets questions and comments about Tang all the time. I'm guessing he's just sick of hearing about it.

I think Armstrong realized that as the first human to set foot on another celestial body his name would go down in history and didn't want to allow his daily life after the moon landing to taint that legacy in any way. Buzz has been free to be a bad ass because his name will be forgotten long before Armstrong's is.

Because he is taking precious childhood moments and exposing them for what they are.  He is shedding the clean cut all american astronaut image that the government made for him and it makes people uncomfortable.


If Tang is your "precious childhood moment", you have my sincere sympathies.

Since I'm old, I remember when Lemon/Lime Gatorade first came out.  It was teh nasty.
