PBR Mainstream!!! It always was.  Everybody drank it when I was growing up (in the 70's).  Also Olympia, Schlitz, Hamms, Black Label, Stroh's, Fallstaff ($3 a case in college-more than half was the bottle deposit), Goebels,  Old style, and Old Milwaukee.  If hipsters take to any of these they it's just ironic enough for me to laugh at them.  Also Molson or Moosehead.  Keystone does not count as Beer.  If Hipsters want Hip beer go to a brew pub, or get togetrher and make your own.  Girls too, for most of human history women smoked the meat and brewed the beer.

I hope to Jebus they don't take up homebrewing. I don't need to hear their shiat in the homebrew forums about all of the amazing ingredients they use and the innovative brewing methods they came up with.

/it's sold on merit, how more hipster can you get?

As much as I'd hate to see some fez wearing douche drinking my swill of choice, if it helps get it into local bars around here I'm all for it.

I can buy a 6-pack of tall boys for $5 at my local packie.
$6 for the seasonal brews.
If it gets popular the price will go up and with it the cost of working on my yard.
I'll be damned if I'm doing that shiat sober.

I'm sick of the word "hipster'. It was referenced a bazillion times in the article, but good luck defining or even getting consensus on who or what is a "hipster". Stupid...

/off my lawn etc.

I guess you know you're old when beer you drank as a kid, which became hideously unpopular later, is now popular again. They still suck though; we drank 'em because they were cheap.

It's good to be able to afford a nice IPA now.

I predict Miller High Life.  Not only is it the champagne of beers, but it would give hipsters the chance for the following exchange:

Bartender:  "What are you having?"

Hipster:  "I'd like a Miller High Life, please."

Bartender:  "We don't have that, but we have Miller Light in bottle or draft.  Would you like one of those?"

Hipster:  "No; that's just not the same.  I'll just have a water.  Oh, and could you please tell the owner to start carrying High Life?"

That is perhaps the most disgusting beer I've ever tasted.

The hipsters should love the irony.  True swill.

Yeah, white people with college educations that all of a sudden always wanted to run their own microbrewery is the ska band of this generation.

There's nothing ironic about drinking PBR anymore, anyway. The next great hipster drink must return to the roots of irony that define hipsterism. O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer with a whisky chaser (from the rail, of course) would be my suggestion.
