poison_amy: I am the proud owner of 8 of those black walnut bastards.  Here's what they've done for me.
1. Prevented me from getting DirecTV
2. Given me a squirrel population of approximately 4000
3. Caused huge bare spots in my yard because grass won't grow under them.
4.  Prevented me from having a garden because
     a.  They block the sun
     b.  They make the soil toxic

So yeah.  When he's done with his prison time, he can come HERE.

Not to mention the giant pile of brown leaves they drop.  My neighbor planted one of those nasty pieces of crap between our houses.  And he hates squirrels.

Straelbora: sex0r: Waste taxpayer's money to put this guy in jail for cutting down trees,  yet give amnesty to people who enter this country illegally and drain immeasurable resources from the taxpayers.  What a country.

Yeah, a country nice enough to take care of the mentally challenged like you.

Actually, that's one thing we don't do.  The lack of mental care is one reason so many of our veterans are living on the street.

A Terrible Human: cherryl taggart: Are you talking about a sweet gum tree? Those vile little spike balls that sprout when you look at them? My stupid neighbors think they have some sort of exotic maple, because the leaves look somewhat like a maple. I want to go over there and pour rock salt all over that yard. I spend hours pulling up those horrid little saplings from everywhere. And no barefoot walks in the soft backyard, because they hide in the grass we keep at 2.5 inches.

No it was a chestnut tree cause my mom would gather them up,carefully open them and there would be chestnuts in the middle. Once my aunts were throwing them at each out and one got stuck in my aunts ass. Imagine being a 30 year old woman asking your mom to pull those spikes out your ass.

Your aunt couldn't come up with a better, more believable story about how that got stuck in her ass?

He did this on a wildlife preserve.  Tough to maintain the ecosystem to maintain wildiife when some asshole is coming in and cutting down as many trees this guy did.  This wasn't one tree belonging to a neighbor, this was several trees on federally protected land.  One guy shouldn't be able to undermine the mission of a federal agency, so the punishment should be enough to prevent people from trying.  Besides, there is plenty of suburban sprawl.  What is rare is true wilderness and people shouldn't go farking with what little we have left.
