Noticeably F.A.T.: nekom: But if it's a problem that can be solved, just seems like a waste.I suppose, but who the hell am I to decide that? If someone decides that they don't have anything else to offer (or simply doesn't want to offer anything more), that's up to them.
Day_Old_Dutchie: It's just a matter of a trickle down.
WhyteRaven74: WTFDYW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9fB1IcTD48&feature=player_embeddednotice he's using a car cigarette lighter to light the cigarette? Think about that for a sec, a car cigarette lighter...in a race car....
Nabb1: Damn, that's sad. I'm not a NASCAR fan, but years ago, when ESPN was still enjoyable and not so self-absorbed, they would always, ALWAYS say where Dick Trickle finished in ever NASCAR race at the end of the bit about that day's race on SportsCenter. Some people (not Trickle, AFAIK) got a little rankled at the sophomoric humor, so they later wouldn't outright mention his name, but say, "You-know-who finished 43rd."
Ed Becker: From what I heard back when Winston sponsored the cup he'd get a pack of Winstons, toss the cigs and refill the pack with Marlboros, his preferred brand.
post0089: Suicide is cowardly.
Tom_Slick: crotchgrabber: He was 71, and he smoked like a chimney for about 60 of those yearsI'm trying to remember my NASCAR history, wasn't he one of the last drivers who would actually light up in the car while under caution?
WhyteRaven74: I think he just flicked it out the window.
The Bestest: post0089: Suicide is cowardly.Let's say the terminal illness theory is correct; he's already lived a very long and storied life. Do you think it's more noble to live out your final years in agony while putting your family through seeing you suffering?
Fireproof: Fireproof: NASCAR.com has nothing. One of my coworkers says they'll refuse to mention it, due to it being bad publicity.I'm inclined to believe him. That's how NASCAR the organization has been lately. The official NASCAR Twitter and FB feeds now have minimal tribute posts. Still nothing on the site. It's like they're posting the least they can get away with.
badgerb: Is Nascar.com not owned by TNT
Candygram for Mongo: Now that he's racing the Heaven Nascar circuit
ekdikeo4: My lady now says at karaoke tonight, I should sing "It's Tricky", but somehow change the lyrics to tribute to this guy.
The Downfall: Jeez ESPN.com has no mention. But I guess this news has only broke in the last 30 minutes. Suicide is always sad. I also didn't realize he was over 70.
bikerific: I grew up near State Park Speedway in central Wisconsin and my family followed racing during Trickle's short track heyday. Here's my favorite recollection from sometime in the 80s.One week, Trickle had car problems- I don't remember why. But he got another guy to let him use his car for the night. I don't remember the guy's name, but the car was a Blue #31. It was a perennial last place car. I mean dead last, way out of contention last, always lapped last.Trickle borrows that car, which he had never driven, and which was always dead last, and won everything with it.
Clay Babcock: Legend has it he would race a special at Kaukauna on Sunday afternoon (a 1/2 mile paved track, and usually win) load up and head up the road about a half hour to Seymour (a 1/2 mile dirt track) change tires and win the feature Sunday night . RIP
Primitive Screwhead: Killed himself in a cemetery? How very thoughtful and convenient.
post0089: Suicide is cowardly. At least he had the decency to do it at a cemetery and let the police know so his family didn't walk in on his brains splattered all over the bedroom wall./Known several people in my life to commit suicide// Feel nothing for them, just their familiesMaybe it's you. Stop being such a bummer to be around and maybe fewer people in your life will stop killing themselves.
TeddyRooseveltsMustache: [upload.wikimedia.org image 220x278]RIP Dick Trickle

You Die!: boyvoyeur: I wonder why he did this. Was he sick? Depressed? And why do it in a cemetery? And why call 911 before you do it? Very weird.Seems like the most responsible way to go, if you ask me.
Shakin_Haitian: Lincoln county sucks.
