theorellior: I will assume that at some point in time Steve Winwood did some decent music, but I'll never find out because his 80s dreck was so annoying I never want to hear his voice again.

Quantum Apostrophe: But he was in his 40s by then. Isn't that when you are better, stronger, wiser, faster and smarter than in your 20s? Shouldn't his music have been so good just one note of it would have shattered your brain from its awesomeness?
theorellior: I'm in my 40s and have probably never been healthier.

Quantum Apostrophe: Come on, anything, just give me something here buddy!
Snapper Carr: theorellior: I will assume that at some point in time Steve Winwood did some decent musicBlind Faith and Traffic are the bands you're looking for
theorellior: The other can collapse in a high wind.
Quantum Apostrophe: Sort of like a Space Nutter's ideas. Hell I can fart on most of them and they fly apart like toilet paper in the microwave.
Quantum Apostrophe: theorellior: I'm in my 40s and have probably never been healthier.Middle Aged Delusional Syndrome. When I was in my 20s I had to undergo a rigorous physical to get medical coverage at my job. Treadmill, VO2 max, the works. Turns out those records are still at the clinic now. Guess what? I was in better shape in my 20s. No one is in better shape in their 40s than in their 20s unless they had a disease or something.I am MEASURABLY fatter, slower, dumber, stupider and uglier. Aging SUCKS.But it looks like you are on the opposite trend. You'll be awesome in your 60s! My God, you just might solve all the world's problems! How will society cope with an individual as smart and strong as you are becoming?theorellior: It probably comes down to choosing the most immortal molecules to ingest.Atoms. But I suppose you think atoms have an age, right? The same ones that have been cycling through everything on the Earth for billions of years, and yet can be 40 years old in you, or 1 year old in a baby!Oh Brave New World that has such atoms in it!I wonder how atoms keep track of all the different ages they are supposed to have.Even better, how can we measure them?Like, a carbon atom from you, we can measure something about it that says it came from a 40 year old human, right?Right? It's different somehow? Maybe it reacts slower with oxygen, or maybe its electrons don't quite emit the same wavelength of light anymore? Maybe its protons weigh less? Maybe their charge is starting to leak, like a tiny NiCd cell? So, where are all these atoms? Is there like a pile of used up carbon atoms that just don't react anymore? How does a plant know which atom to pick?Come on, anything, just give me something here buddy!
Thank You Black Jesus!: Steve Winwood is awesome. He was a better guitar player in Blind Faith than Eric Clapton. On a related note, when Rolling Stone voted Clapton #2 rock guitarist evar, I was confused. He wasn't even the 2nd best guitar player in The Yardbirds. And he barely made it to 2nd in Blind Faith.

AcesFull: Some friends of mine..and myself were discussing "gimme some loving"...Some felt Winwoods B-3(or possibly C-3) was the turning point, where, the Farfisa and Vox organs starting to lose their place..However most felt,it was Steppenwolf that led to Hammond dominance in late '60's and early 70's pop music...Hammond caught a lucky break,if true..The Steppenwolf guy played a Thomas.
