Let's face it, guys: Godzilla is just pro wrestling with giant monsters. It really is. All the stuff people love about pro wrestling-- the posturing, the characters, the good-vs-evil stories, the outrageous moves and fights-- combined with giant monsters and destroyed cities. What's not to like?

Kaiju Big Battel has the right idea, but they do it on the cheap.

If anyone wants to make a good American Godzilla (or kaiju) movie, they need to have a pro wrestling producer on their team for some creative consulting. They also need to consider that what fans want is not the "human story" part of it. We suffered through the horrible plots of some Godzilla movies to get to the awesome showdowns. I don't want to see Matthew Broderick win the day. I want to see GODZILLA win the farking day, or Jet Jaguar, or Monster Zero... It doesn't matter who wins, really, as long as the fight is cool and a major metropolitan area is completely destroyed in the process.

Oh, and maser cannons. You have to have maser cannons, dammit.
