(SeattlePI)   For one record-breaking day, Seattle was as hot as Phoenix. Of course, in Phoenix it's a dry heat, and here it's just hot ironically   ( seattlepi.com) divider line

peacheslatour: vudukungfu: I thought it rained douches in Seattle.
Ironic, Hipster, umbrella carrying douches.
With handlebar mustaches.
And wearing skinny jeans.
Sipping Latte's.
And listening to Indie music.

Pfft- umbrellas are for tourists!

I only carry an ironic umbrella - it's an umbrella with holes in it so that the rain pours right through.

Smeggy Smurf: Calmamity: First person to make some lame joke about rain in Seattle sniffs Chris Christie's gas.

The only lame thing about Seattle's rain is how little there is compared to places like Sitka or Forks.

Forkers... I hate'em

It would be a nice day for a basketball game, if Seattle had a team.

I visited Portland back in the summer of 1994. Got into town in the morning around 8 AM and the thermometer already read at least 90. The temps topped off at 106. It was farking hot! So much so, the cops didn't stop people from cooling off in the fountains in front of office buildings downtown.

/which of you fellow onion-belters remember that summer?
//not just those who lived in walla walla but those old enough to remember the style at the time

It was weird, we treat sunny days like freaking Christmas morning in Seattle. Strangers smiling and greeting each other, the whole bit. Also the women dress like actual women instead of asexual day-hikers. The first day it gets nice, you're like "where the hell have you all been?"

Just wanted to say that people that like things ironically isn't actually irony.  Internal awareness of the creation of the juxtaposition nullifies the irony.

Unfortunately, it's as hot as River Phoenix, but I guess that's the way it goes.
