(Metro)   It's a no-brainer. We just need to take it to the next level to turn this into a win-win situation. The best practice is to get rid of the low-hanging fruit first. Ping me with an agenda so we can go flag up on this thing   ( metro.co.uk) divider line

plcow: Best practices and win-win might be overused, but they definitely have real meanings.  Best practices is used when a lot of people are achieving the same result, over and over, and going about it different ways.  Somewhere in there is a best practice, that can save time.  Win-win is a negotiating term, and means that rather than going term-for-term through a contract and dividing up which clause favors who, both parties look to add value to the contract that benefits everybody.  Using a metaphor, it's growing the pie, rather than focusing on how it's divided up.

Also, I work in a Fortune 10 office, and never hear any of these other words.  I see these lists all the time on linkedin, who uses these words?

That's the point. The people in management in the most successful companies know that they don't need to use euphemisms to communicate, they have discovered that clarity goes a lot further. Unfortunately the MBAs that fill the ranks of most other companies haven't been able to overcome the natural desire to sound important, or use the phases to intentionally avoid clarity.
