It's security theater, so naturally a pretend bomb is treated just as a real bomb.

Sorry, but I can actually see the TSA's point. If some guy shows up with a tic and starts talking about a bomb, that doesn't sound like someone you should let board a plane-especially if the airline didn't pass on the notice.

It does seem like their should be a way to get him screened though-some sort of medical waiver tied to a solid piece of ID.
