(Politico)   The media's marathon meltdown. Worse than Chernobyl and sadder than Wolf Blitzer's Jeopardy score, but like a terrible car accident, you can't help but look on in horror at the state of the media   ( politico.com) divider line

Hey CNN, when you want to know what's happening, just ask Andy Richter.

BalugaJoe: LawPD: Please, oh please let this be the impetus for CNN putting Wolf Blitzer on extended hiatus. He is the worst and I just can't understand why they insist on trotting that smarmy a-hole out every time something big happens.

At least they got rid of Solodad Obrien.  All she did was play music for 2 hours.

Hey that's more than MTV does.

One of my favorite comments from Twitter:

Mark Mardell @BBCMarkMardell

CNN very postmodern right now - fragmented versions of reality from multiple unreliable narrators

Well, my cable is currently out, because those a**holes at Comcast have once again raised my rates. I have the blue screen of death telling me that I need to upgrade my equipment (which means getting a box from them, at the cost of another $2.00 a month) so they can keep their box, and I'll do without. Renting movies at the library for free will do just fine for me.

The media, as a whole, are farktwits. Staffed with trogs who otherwise would be asking "want fries with that?" (with deepest apologies to fast-food purveyors)

I was shocked to hear CNN had even bothered to cover the bombing. I've long since given up on it as a source of actual news, since 99% of the headlines usually involve a celebrity of some kind.

John King needs to return to what he's good at, shrinking and expanding maps on a large screen. How dumb do you have to be to have Wolf Blitzer over you in the newsroom?

Also waiting for Anderson Cooper to be eaten by a bear. Interpret that sentence however you like.

Wolf Blitzer always talks like he has something going up his ass.  The farker is annoying at all times.

Sybarite: There are people who trust 24-hour news networks? Have they ever actually watched those channels?

I imagine them a lot like the precogs in Minority Report
