It's been a few weeks since Fark had a story about macaque.   Even if it's a small one.

They're totally communicating, our egocentric nature just minimizes it.

There will probably never be a way to say this without is sounding racist, so I'll just go ahead and say it. It's really weird when two people are speaking Hindi because about 10-15% of it is English words, 10-15% of it sounds vaguely familiar like some obscure latin-based language I don't know, and the rest sounds like total nonsense to my Western ear.

Pangea: They're totally communicating, our egocentric nature just minimizes it.

No, they're not communicating except in the most rudimentary animal way.  It sounds "familiar" to us because we're all primates.  We share common ancestors and have strong similarities in anatomy.  It's not surprising that the mouths and larynxes of geladas could make sounds that we identify as "speech".  Goats make some surprisingly human-sounding noises.  Our brains are wired to recognize the sounds of other humans, and when we hear something similar, we respond to it.

And a rolling dance floor."
