(The Ledger)   Two DJs have been taken off the air following an April fools joke gone awry. It would seem that joking about dihydrogen monoxide in the water supply is no laughing matter   ( theledger.com) divider line

People complained about this on April Fools day?  I blame our educational system.

I know...  You'd think the environmental activist groups would publish a humiliation warning about it in a newsletter, or something...

It is a stunt.  They weren't even really suspended.

Remember that one time in elementary school when you learned the meaning of the word epidermis?  Didn't you go around telling people their epidermis was showing?  I sure did.

Wait, the general manager of a country station in Florida didn't get the joke, so he pulled the DJs?

This is my surprised face.

grokca: I heard that if you just dehydrate it, it is harmless.

Are you kidding? Then you've got one of the most combustible substances known to mankind, directly responsible for deaths in the US space program!

Is there a way to expand this and remove DJs from other markets?  I'm talking *morning* DJs here.

I quit listening to one or our morning shows when one of the jocks took a mic into the john and broadcast himself taking a dump.  Not that I'm highbrow in what I find funny, but I draw the line at pinching a loaf on the air.

I assume the dumbass tag is for the station manager who suspended them, and not the DJ's. Because that's a goddamn stupid thing to suspsend someone over. IMHO it's tantamount to admitting that you are a waterheaded idiot and you think all of your consumers are too.

"The News-Press reported that he immediately pulled the duo and began airing a retraction and apologies."

So...there's no water, then?
