I haven't been able to watch the Simpsons for a few years now. It is a shadow of what it once was, but it's still better than most shows on TV now.

Death's too good for him.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure he suffered immensely.  Bone cancer's a biatch like that, ya know.  Most just usually end their lives before things get too painful, but I'm sure he clung to as much life as he could, for as long as he could, just to make sure that you could feel that he was truly punished for writing a movie you didn't happen to enjoy.

That's who I was expecting it to be.

Same here.

This year is going to be the worst for Simpson deaths since 1994.

I think you mean 1998.

/Still upset about Phil Hartman.

Actually the last few seasons have been pretty solid. Not like Homer Goes to College awesome, but still a pretty good TV comedy. The one where the hipsters move into Springfield was awesome, the one where Grandpa was revealed to be an old time wrestler was really funny, and the one with the story of Homer's childhood dog was a really good story.

His death would have been funnier in Season 1-9.

Although 48 is much too young to die, he leaves a legacy of laughter to millions around the world. That's an accomplishment that few can claim. Goodnight, funny man.

/I will turn 48 in less than a week
//this makes me sad for so many reasons

/RIP to the guy, and condolences to his family.

A) he's 39

B) never been involved with The Simpsons (Family Guy and Robot Chicken do NOT count as The Simpsons)

"He was 48 and had bone cancer" is not always necessarily exclusive with "death by cancer".

My Grandfather had a long battle with colon cancer. Ended up shooting himself because of the pain. This is always a possibility. I dont blame them if they want to end the pain.
