Yeah, that Bear Grylls really teaches you stuff eh.

I believe it said he made an igloo.  Or most likely, just a hole in the snow.  Then used branches as cover.  That's not a bad way to go and most people are too stupid to realize that a snow cavern is a lot warmer than standing outside in the elements.  If the show gave him the idea then it worked.
