1. No matter what the sport, the more you know about the intricacies, the more enjoyable it is. That's everything from football to basketball to hockey to NASCAR. It's also difficult to get emotionally involved in any game between two teams if you don't have a rooting interest.

2. It's hard for me to take a guy seriously when he says soccer is too boring, but baseball is his thing. Because when I think, "nonstop, breathless action", baseball is the very first thing that springs to mind. I don't even dislike baseball.
