Highest poverty rates, lowest educational levels, highest teen pregnancy rates, and highest numbers of religious people.

The higher rates in the Southwest are likely in large part to the large Latino population.

You may begin shrieking about racism in the face of facts now.

The whole purpose of the Daily Fail is to convince its readers that Britian and the world at large have gone to the dogs and it was much better back in your day. tut tut.

Norfolking Chance: ontariolightning: Why do Amerocans post on a British tabloid website? My bro in law is British and says anyone who reads that is a bloody yob.

The Daily Mail is deliberately trying to get page clicks from America as its core audience in Britiain is not very technologically literate and quite small. It's the British Fox News in print form (with all the deliberate petty small minded borderline racist articals that are poorly researched and deliberately slanted).

Ton of weird class baiting too- which is interesting, because that's the one way it varies from Fox news. But none of it is positive criticism- more "This is how much the Duchess of Cambridge's dress cost and she only did one engagement this week, the lazy thing. We report, you decide" kind of coverage.

So states with large populations of African-Americans, Hispanics, or Native-Americans have large teen birth rates?  I'm shocked... shocked!   Maybe one day the government will make available the tools to stop this problem.

Meanwhile, I see lily white Vermont is doing fine like always on these (poverty, birth rate, medical care, std, etc) threads...

Map overlays with percentage uninsured for health care. Not too surprising.

Don't forget how super young they start at it too!  They start having kids really young and never stop.   I remember living in Santa Fe and seeing all of these 16-18 year old girls walking along the street with two kids in tow.  Contrast that to the north east.  Here people have two kids in their thirties and forties.

Southwest, Subby. Big difference. (Well, Southwest and part of the South. And Delaware and DC.)

Though, harking back to yesterday's map thread, the South is distinguished by its high rate of sexually-transmitted diseases. So there's that.

They sure as fark act like it.

Not all of us. Things will change eventually. The blue-hairs are dying and the Mormons are having fewer children. Things are looking up for the 2028 elections.

We don't have accents, but the overt racism is just like living in Dixie.
