Clearly we have to ban these dangerous 13 year old girls.

phalaeo: While stabbing is not really justified, I had no idea what a problem middle school cafeterias were until my husband's daughter came to live with us.  At least once a week (sometimes more), she tells us of some kid picking up her lunch, turning around (so she can't grab it), and rifling through it.  Apparently, adults are present- we're still trying to figure out how to deal with this.

The thing is, she's pretty much always happy to share.... if they would only ask politely instead of grabbing it away from her.

Bake up some delicious looking cookies that are full of hot sauce. Make sure daughter knows not to eat them.

Justifiable attempted homicide.  We find for the defendant.

When I was in the 5th grade, another boy stabbed me in the arm with a pencil because I won an art contest and he didn't.  I still have a blue mark on my arm there. Funny, he didn't get drawn up on assault charges or anything, no one called him a budding psychopath, no parents got upset, I just bled a lot.

I do remember reading somewhere that girls are entering puberty at a younger age now than ever before:

No problem. My kid sister was a absolute terror when she hit puberty. Death threats, throwing, etc. I took huge lumps as the big brother - she actually hit me with a chair, pro wrestling style. My father's hair went gray in about 6 months. We still refer to age13-18 as 'the difficult years'.

I'm thinking large camps, far from civilized man...

I think a larger problem is why this girl felt like she needed a knife at school. Does this boy (or others) regularly harasss her? Middle school was a nightmare for me so I can relate to that. But stabbing someone over potato chips is stupid and she sounds fat.

Was it with one of those plastic lunch knives?  Because those things shatter when you stab someone enough times  with it, let me tell you.  The sporks farking hurt though.

Well he did steal the chips. Sounds fair. Case dismissed.
