Slow To Return: natural316: I bad mouthed him, now what??

I dunno, but I have IAmRight favorited as "Lebron's #1 fan" and "Ron Artest apologist" for a reason....

It's funny because simply stating basic truths gets you branded as a fan of someone/some team - instead I should just be blindly hating and ignoring trends and likelihoods. I don't like the Lakers at all, but they have a pretty solid chance of making the playoffs. They'll be first-round fodder for probably OKC or the Spurs, and given the hype going into the season, they're a huge disappointment...but let's not act as though they have no chance of making the playoffs. There's plenty of season left to go and they're close enough and getting better as a team. They also have what seems to be an easier schedule, although the Warriors certainly helped themselves considerably by beating San Antonio for the first time in the past 17 meetings, something I certainly wouldn't have predicted.

As for World Peace...don't remember the whole argument, but basically it boiled down to the fact that Artest has admitted to having mental issues and the incident he's most famous for, he was baited into and, had he hit the right person, I fully support his actions. Fans who throw sh*t at players deserve to get the sh*t beaten out of them. Unfortunately, he sucks at identifying people (not that it's easy).

WinoRhino: It's the NBA. Who DOESN'T make the playoffs? It's a 50-50 shot. They're only 3 games out of the last spot right now. And if they get in they meet the Spurs in round 1 and just delay their summer plans. For fark's sake, the Bucks are in right now. Bold statement Kobe! You da man!

Well if the Lakers played in the East they'd probably be in the playoffs, teams under .500 seem to make the playoffs every year in that shallow conference. Only saying that because you brought up the Bucks, a team that would have no shot in the West.

IAmRight: They certainly could make it. Currently 5.5 out of 6th place (I use that basically because I think the Warriors aren't all that great - in fact, Golden State and Utah have both been outscored by their opponents this year despite having winning records. They have a lot of games against the bottom two teams in every division, too, and two more against the Warriors, who they're 2-0 against already. So if they sweep the Warriors, then they only have to make up 3.5 games.

We get it, you're a lakers fan

Even if they get in the season is still one of the biggest fails of all time if they don't hoist up that trophy because at this point in the year we shouldn't be talking about IF they get in, but with the acquisitions they made we should be talking about if anyone can beat them
