Can we just air drop him into Kansas and have him leave a wide swath of science in his wake?

Neil deGrasse-Tyson--Science Warrior!

Bill Nye the Science Ninja.

Bad Astronomer--Space Samurai!

That Bill Nye one is a real eye-opener. It's like discovering that Mr. Rogers is a secret Ninja Assassin.

GilRuiz1: Tyson's remained steadily popular for years; perhaps he can teach this guy how to advocate for science without being eaten alive by the fanboys.

He wasn't eaten alive by fanboys, he was eaten alive because his method does not allow for the interpretation he gave. It was sloppy analysis that allowed him to come to a conclusion that he had already made a priori.

would only listen if the provided information were wrapped in a government conspiracy theory story.

Kansan farmer: "Why are we having so many bad droughts?"

Neil: "Scientists in China are using their industrial infrastructure to increase pollution in order for you to press the US Government into taking action over global warming."

Kansan farmer: "Oh wow, that makes sense."

Neil mumbles to himself: (close enough)
