bittermang: ZAZ: Thornton declined to say how many people knew the account's password. There should be one password per human, never to be shared under threat of having your Facebook account deleted. And therein lies the problem with Twitter's implementation. On Facebook I can have a brand page, and assign Admins to it. There's a nice panel where I can manage who has access to it, and everyone just logs in with their original Facebook credentials. This allows both multiple people to manage a single brand, as well as multiple brands. The problem is this makes the user account a single point of failure for both their personal account, and any brand pages they have access to.On Twitter I can have an account. If I want to have a "brand" account, it's completely separate account, and another user/pass combo. If I'm running a marketing department, those credentials have to be shared, or I have to develop some horseshiat intermediary layer wherein they log in to a portal to tweet with their own separate credentials, and the app sends the tweet up stream to Twitter via OAuth2. Not out of the question, just more complicated than it needs to be.
hodge-podge: ProfessorOhki: After Burger King's Twitter account was hacked, posting obscene messages and changing its profile picture to a McDonald's logo -- the food chain apologized.Okay, the McD logo is sort of funny, but c'mon random obscenity? At least be creative... make up your own promotion; a free 4 piece chicken when you use the secret phrase, "let me see your nuggets" or something.[i46.tinypic.com image 470x600]
