I suspect Bungie will always bounce back with something new until that one time when something snaps.  Then it is game over.

FPS MMO.  Since the days of Tribes man has attempted to nail down this elusive beast.  it hasn't happened yet.

Console MMO.  Are there any of these?  Are we talking about porting the Call of Duty kids over to an MMO and attempting to somehow organize that herd of homophobic, racist, tourettes sufferers to raid?  This plan has many glaring and obvious flaw.

I'll play devils advocate and say your going to be pleasantly surprised... Maybe.

Raids demand teamwork, and the klue klux kiddies tend to not fit in well with that model. They won't tolerate their own company when forced to interact cooperatively for long periods.
I speculate you'll get a fanbase of more mature players, like what you see in RPGs.
