Ha spoofing someone's dead spouses' old line is a pretty evil prank

Maybe he left an old Zack Morris brick phone in her colon? Can we go to the tape?

His land line?

but not her land line.

White, stupid, self indulgent cheerleader problems.

My maternal grandmother's phone might still come up with grandpa's name, and he's been dead since 1997.  No 911 calls, though.

Whatever could she do to stop this?

/Of course, after she milks it for all the publicity she can.

Hold off on purging the city of styrofoam cups until we get this issue resolved, get the men working in shifts!

And don't give me that 'change her number' bullshiat!  This is Katie Couric we're talking about!

It was a little funny the first couple of times, but you should really stop it now.

Must be nice to be famous, prank 911 calls to your house in the night warrants a call to the NYPD Commisioner!?!? I think he has more pressing issues to deal with Katie...turn your phone off

Wanted for questioning.

Apparently Rupert Murdoch thinks Katie Couric's eyes are green so he's trying to lure her to his underground lair to break the ancient curse.

/The check is in the mail

I love Katie. Years ago I was a bone marrow donor and my case worker was a Katie lookalike. She said people took her for Katie all the time. Mmmmm. yummy.

She and her (now) late husband used to stop by the diner near my old apartment all the time. He was indeed a lucky bastard to be tapping that. (/csb)

So, we are smack dab in the middle of the Nielsen ratings sweeps and Couric is AW'ing.

/ Color me shocking pink.

Mysterious calls from dead Hubby's line to 911
Phone records are looked into, to include all calls he made while alive, to investigate when the 911 calls started or if other regular calls were being happening spontaneously
Investigation of numbers fine another suspect call going out in the dead of night
Looking up that number as it's owned by a 19 year old who can stick ankles behind head.
Proof of torrid love affair comes out, including testimony about how afraid Hubby was of Katie
Death is looked at in a new light and the case is reopened.
Katie is arrested and found guilty of impaling guy on a shovel handle via the anus, lawyers paid off slimy doctors to fabricate colon cancer story, several people go to prison
Mysterious calls from that line to 911 ceased when the phone records were investigated.

Ta DA!
Quick, call Lifetime!

That's really intriguing. When my mother died starting the next week there were strange things going on. Every Tuesday morning at the same time I would wake up feeling someone sitting on either the side of my bed, the foot of my bed, or touching my back. Every Tuesday at the same time. This went on for at least six weeks. I also started hearing scratching in the attic and knocking on the walls. I tried dismissing that as critters in the attack, but that didn't explain the walls. One time I was convinced someone broke into the house, because of how loud the banging was. I got up, got my katana, and checked every room. Nothing there. It got to the point where I would just kick my feet when I felt something sitting on the foot of the bed. I was always alone when it happened.

ParagonComplex: It got to the point where I would just kick my feet when I felt something sitting on the foot of the bed.

My first wife and I had a house in Utah (yeah, yeah...) and one night right after we turned out the lights, she rolled over facing the window and freaked out screaming that there was a guy right outside the window. Kind of weird, since our room was on the second floor, and you would have to be standing on the roof of the first floor to look in, but it was possible. I jump up, throw on the light, and look out the window - nothing. She's screaming at me that the guy is "RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU!" I didn't see anything, even though I was supposedly less than a foot away from this guy. Eventually, she said he "just  faded away."

Fast forward about 6 weeks, I'm getting home from a night shift at the movie store and wifey was going shopping with her mom, so I head upstairs to get some sleep. As soon as she left, I went upstairs and laid down. Less than two minutes later, I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, crossing the room, and stopping at the foot of the bed. I thought maybe is was the Mrs. coming back for something, and when I didn't hear anything after a couple minutes, I opened my eyes - no one there. I sat up, looked around and didn't see anyone in the room at all. After a few more uneasy minutes of silence, I finally said, "If someone is there, could you please leave? I'm tired and, quite honestly, you're freaking me out." At that point, the footsteps went back across the room and down the stairs....

Never heard anything weird in the house after that.
