Movies are terrible for dates anyway. They dominate the attention you should be giving to each other.

No wonder you're all single.

CSB: Our first date was a blind, double-date at the drive in. This was the second movie shown. Neither of us remembers what the first movie was. We all gave the movies the MST3K treatment, and we laughed our asses off all night. She and I been married almost 18 years now, and we still manage to make each other laugh.

Also adding The Brown Bunny. I have never seen anything as creepy as the blowjob scene.

Then again, Vincent Gallo seems like a huge creeper, himself. He looks like he'd leave an oily stain behind where ever he sat down.

Sure.  That's the moment your date realizes you're a half-wit with terrible taste in movies.

My first date with the woman I married was a Frank Zappa concert.  Best Concert Ever.  We lasted almost 30 years, and only death parted us.

Haven't had a bad date movie in theaters, but my last girlfriend and I rented a movie on the way home from our first date dinner. That movie "Twilight." She hadn't read the books, but her friends wouldn't stop yammering about it.

Fortunately 10 minutes in, she whispered in my ear, "This sucks, wanna see what's on HBO?" We turned off the movie and changed the channel right as "Shawn of the Dead" was coming on. Somehow, that flipped her switch and she was on me before it got to the record throwing scene.

If it hadn't been for the redhead = crazy fact, she would have been a keeper.

First date with a girl that I was crushing on in college but didnt know very well - Monty Python's Meaning Of Life - it was a little awkward at first(obviously) - but by the time they got to Every Sperm Is Sacred we were both laughing so damn hard and the rest of the night was so damn easy...
The More You Know:Every girl that I watched Bram Stokers "Dracula" with back in the day was very DTF by the end of that movie in spite of Keanu Reeves....

Shadowtag: Dante's Peak

Terrible date movies, but we knew it was kismet when afterwards we just totally ripped into both movies for being awful. Elektra was the one she's still mad at me for. That one was so bad I couldn't even muster a decent Tom Servo impression.

Dante's Peak wasn't as bad as Volcano at least.

Movies make terrible date activities.    Go to dinner. Go do something where you interact with each other. Sitting silently next to someone is best left until you're married and bored.

They're on another list, sixteen of the worst possible movies to watch on a date.

Took a date to The Fellowship of the Ring.
She said it was good but they left a lot of things unresolved.  I really couldn't argue the point.

Not a good first date movie, but I do love that film.  Elizabeth Pena was so hot.  Well... until...

wellreadneck: Took a guy to see "South Park". He stormed out during " Uncle F*cker". After pointing out how insensitive and thoughtless my film choice was, he confessed that he'd been abused by his own uncle for several years, between the ages of 17 and 22.

If you didn't know his backstory, how was your movie choice insensitive and thoughtless? Besides, it's not like you KNEW Uncle Farker was going to be in the movie.

"May" is one of my wife's favourite movies... also "Secretary", which *would* make a great first-date movie! If Maggie Gyllenhal getting spanked by James Spader doesn't turn her crank, nothing will, right?

Be assured, if Michelle Williams is starring in it, the romantic relationship of the leads is going to work out horribly for everyone. (Blue Valentine, Take This Waltz, Brokeback Mountain).

When we were still dating, my wife took me to see a midnight showing of Faces of Death.  We're still married 17 years later.  But that girl always was a little off (which is good, otherwise she never would have been interested in me).

The Dark Knight.

No I'm not trolling. It was such an engrossing movie that my date didn't want to leave to go to the bathroom and miss anything. He was literally twitching in his seat for most of the movie and when he finally decided to go (during the scene where the Joker is talking to Dent in the hospital) he tripped in the dark and fell over in the aisle. I found out after the movie that he actually wet his pants a bit during the fall. He tried to hide the stain but the smell was still there.

There was no second date.

4. "Rosemary's Baby"

Wife and I watched this on a date when long before we got married. Nothing wrong with it at all. Good for Halloween-time horror/thriller movie dates.

8. "Swimfan"

No one should watch this movie for any reason, date or otherwise.

15. "Play Misty for Me"

False. Jessica Walter.
