Holy crap? A heart attack from an asthma attack? And at that age?

When she stopped breathing due to pulmonary arrest, her heart stopped beating shortly afterwards, as to my understanding of such things. If you can't breath from choking or whatever, you go into cardiac arrest soon after.

I'll see what I can contribute, but I'm kind of tapped out presently.

Is there anyway this can get pushed to the main page?

Been in the ER for an asthma attack, so I can relate (kind of). Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I'd donate if I had any money.

I'd donate if I wasn't in the hole.

Still, best wishes for recovery.  This is awful.

Please put this on the Main Page.

Glad to hear that she is responding to commands, that is a really good sign!  Let her know how many of us are pulling for her, ok?  And be patient...recovering from brain damage can take a looong time to fully develop.  It may be more than a year before you know what is going to be permanent and what is not.

Suggestion as to the insurance problem:  If her policy looks like it should cover emergency transportation, dispute the refusal to cover the chopper.  Assuming you have already done that unsuccessfully, contact your local news "consumer protection" investigation crew and tell them the story and that you think the policy is worded deceitfully.  A lot of times insurance companies would rather cough up the dough than deal with bad press, plus you may catch a local philanthropist in a good mood that way.  If the policy is very clear about not covering emergency transport, then you are kind of stuck doing what you are doing though.    Either way, you have my support.

I've referred a few patients here, and they can sometimes help.
