Bad supervision, as the fatass SGT was doing the same shiat the officer was doing. Humping their respective mate / farking off. As a LEO, this pisses me off, not only does it tarnish a already tarnished reputation of all police officers, but other officers had to cover the calls, which took them out of their area of patrol, and put those people, and the responding officers in danger. They should be fired and have to pay back the cash they were paid for all the times they farked off while not doing their jobs. If you don't want to respond to calls, find another job. There are people out there, your fellow officers included, who need you there. Assholes.

And yet, in a court of law, their word means more than yours and can deprive you of your freedom.

I think the time (and technology) is here and all cops should be required to wear recording devices while on duty.

There is a positive to take away from this.

The department's Internal Affairs Division did their job very well in securing indisputable evidence to bust these bad cops and hopefully sending a clear message to other unethical LEOs.

In addition, it looks like they took the proactive approach by releasing the videos to the media as an act of transparency.

It always softens the blow when you clean up your own house and are first to notify the world about it.

SkeletorUpInHere: Guys, I live in South Florida, and I looked for a job as a police officer, but I didn't get it. Went on 5 different interviews.

I'm in decent shape, I received a 97 on my CJBAT, and I speak spanish (a little choppy, but well enough).

How can I not get a job if these shmucks are the ones they are hiring!?!?

They were afraid you'd turn them in, duh.

Cops who don't show up to 9-1-1 calls are 100% less likely to shoot your dog because it's barking.

With police protection like this, why would anyone want to arm themself?

dragonchild: vpb: It's not like people won't notice if you don't show up for a 911 call.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you live in a safe neighborhood.

Living in a safe area does have some advantages.

Chief among them... safety.

..another day, another bad cop story.

"But it's just an isolated incident"
"It's just a tiny minority of cops"
"most cops are honest, hard working heroes"

Yeah. Right.

The Freak Brothers is most educational literature I have ever discovered in life.  At age 12, taught me everything I need to survive in our confusing and dangerous modern times..

It's considered one of the worst incidents of delinquency in the department's history

Nope,  https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/publications/Abstract.aspx?id=193782

"In the late 1980's, nearly 10 percent of the entire Miami Police Department (Florida) was suspended or fired after a drug-related scandal"

Which was cops smuggling heroin.

If it wasn't Miami I would say WTF?  It's not like people won't notice if you don't show up for a 911 call.
