johnperkins: This poster says: Question:If someone lives in severe poverty (or "isn't worth a pot to piss in" as the adage goes) and attempts to cross unlawfully into the US from Canada, what does the either the American or Canadian government do with them? (That is, assuming they didn't do anything illegal other than crossing) Slap them on the hand and turn them free? Prosecute them? Take their picture and put it on the wall like Disneyland? Either way, it seems a pointless lose/lose scenario, right?I'm not sure about Canada, but for Cuba I thought the deal was they get to apply for asylum if they make it to US land.
