sxacho: This a hobby for old people or at least old-fashioned people. You know what young people do? They ride the trains. You know, uptown, downtown. that kind of thing.

ukexpat: Came for the Gibbs reference, leaving disappointed...
Old_Chief_Scott: But a VIA coach? Really? Should have replicated a Pullman sleeper.
No Time To Explain: Does it come with hobo piss stains/smells too?/Never been on a train, i always thought it was like buses//or is this a high class train?
Theaetetus: [www.aeterna.nl image 640x480]I prefer building virtual trains.
OMG! We're All Gonna Die!: I work for Amtrak. I rebuild trains all day. DNRA
Fubegra: I'll agree with one of the article's commenters: it needs a cab with a simulator.Theaetetus: [www.aeterna.nl image 640x480]I prefer building virtual trains.*looks at image info**googles*Oh, no, I think I just found a new time sink.
MyNameIsMofuga: This is similar to my dream but it's a different kind of train I'd like to replicate in my basement.
Tom_Slick: A coach? Little weird, a dining car like Frank Sinatra had that would be cool.
Plumbledum: Would be awesome if a screen and projector unfurled from the roof and there was a bar hidden in the waste receptacle. Home cinema!Perhaps also have the windows screens that show countryside whizzing past.
unyon: Old_Chief_Scott: But a VIA coach? Really? Should have replicated a Pullman sleeper.Tom_Slick: A coach? Little weird, a dining car like Frank Sinatra had that would be cool.My wife and I won a trip on the now-defunct Whistler Northwind, which was luxury passenger rail service from Prince George to Whistler, BC (our trip was 5 days after 9/11, which is another CSB altogether). The cars were renoed classic cars. In particular, the rear car was a cigar-shaped lounge car with overstuffed chairs. Because the trip was post-9/11, and 90% of the train was empty on account of all of the Americans afraid to fly, we spent the entire trip in the lounge largely unbothered by others. 3 days on a luxury train, sitting in overstuffed chairs, playing board games and watching the scenery of the Caribou slide by, drinking Manhattans and calling the bartender by his new given name, Issac. That would be a train car worth replicating in one's basement.[www.google.ca image 640x480]
cgraves67: So, an underground railroad of sorts then? It's been done.
Fecacacophany: Theaetetus: [www.aeterna.nl image 640x480]I prefer building virtual trains. What iteration of Simcity is this?
Hiro-ACiD: Fecacacophany: Theaetetus: [www.aeterna.nl image 640x480]I prefer building virtual trains. What iteration of Simcity is this? When I played that back in the early 90s it was called Railroad Tycoon Deluxe, but it seems they call it Sid Meier's Railroads now. Hours of wasted time to be had there. :)
