Well Iran does have a better track record of not illegally selling American military hardware to China than Israel does. Maybe we need to question who our allies in the region really are.

/trick question, they all suck

Hillbilly Jim: Arkanaut: oryx: It's a double bluff?

Iran: We like Hagel
Senator 1: If Iran likes Hagel, we should reject him.
Senator 2: Not so fast. It Iran says they like Hagel, they must want us to reject him.
Senator 1: We'd better approve him then,
Senator 2: Agreed
Iran: (Good, good.)

Unless it's the rare triple-bluff...

I'm pretty sure it doesn't take the rare triple bluff to get a Republican Senator's tongue on a pole...

Just a wide stance.

clkeagle: Iran endorsed him? On what basis - anti-Semitism?

I think the charge of "anti-semitism" is pretty serious. When people start calling everyone who disagrees with them "anti-semitic", it waters down the true meaning, importance, and history of actual anti-semitism.

And, in a perfect world reasonable country, Iran's opinion of the guy would matter just as much as Israel's opinion of the guy.
