Smeggy Smurf: Game of Thrones? Needs more rape

Nah, just look at what Volkswagen did to Porsche.

How is that Game of Thrones style as opposed to just regular atlas style?

Also, XKCD did it first.

OK...I can't see Jalopnik at work, so I tried to google "game of thrones car sales" and something weird happened. Anyone else want to try that and see if they get a weird result...like Google thinking you are a robot.

/also if someone could point to a non-jalopnik link, that'd be great

There is no Dothraki word for "Prius"

Works for me

KulkulkanX: SAAB whirlpool. LOL

And yet no sign of Volvo. They may have been sold off by Ford to Geely, but at least they still make cars.

Morgan's island should probably sit near Lamborghini's.

OK, that is seriously farked up. So much fail in the organization of the companies in relation to each other. Maybe the area of each "country" corresponds to the US market share of that brand, but do not try to interpret any other information from the proximity of the countries! WTF? This in NOT xkcd style....he actually provides some useful data in his infographics rather than just randomly lumping stuff wherever it happens to fit!

1) Subaru is across the "foreign" continent from Toyota, despite their very close partnership (Subaru assembles Camrys at its IN plant, they co-developed a sprots car together, etc)

2) Mercedes is literally across the world from BMW, Fiat/Chrysler

3) Volvo/Audi is on the other side of the Japanese companies from the rest of the Europeans

4) Nissan is off in a land of it's own, apart from the "foreign" continent

5) Everything NOT Ford/GM is essentially lumped together into a "foreign" continent....really, do BMW, Toyota, and Hyundai all belong in the same group?

If you're going to take the time to do the graphics work on something like this, why not take 5 minutes to think about what you're drawing first? This is an entirely useless map.

hogans: And yet no sign of Volvo.

Volvo is on the Island of Nissan, apparently.

I never realized Renault/Nissan was invested in Volvo...and further intertwined between ownership in Renault Trucks and Nissan Diesel. I guess this map is somewhat useful. It has so many mistakes it prompted me to do 30 seconds of research to try to find more and in the process I learned something. Thanks Jalopnik!

I saw Mercury Crater and thought it was appropriate. I went looking for something equivalent for Pontiac and was disappointed.

Mini sells that much, seriously?

I think XKCD beat them to the idea by a few years.
